Useful Links
Here are some useful links to government and private organizations, most of which we have relationships and have worked in the past. We have also included sites for fishing and licensing in Montana, Washington and British Columbia as many of our members enjoying traveling to these locations. Simply click on the image and you will be taken to their webpage.

Idaho Department of Fish and Game
We have a long history with IDFG and pride ourselves in being one of the “go to” organizations when public input is desired, or when fisheries/water quality projects become viable avenues for our conservation work or financial investment.

Washington Dept. of Fish & Wildlife
Fishing regulations, licensing and information on all types of water in Washington State.

Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks
Fishing regulations, licensing and information on all types of water in Montana.

British Columbia Freshwater Fishing
Fishing regulations, licensing and information on all types of freshwater fishing in British Columbia. Don’t forget your passport too!

Idaho Panhandle National Forest
The US Forest Service in the form of the Idaho Panhandle National Forest is an integral part of our continuing efforts to improve the water quality and fisheries of N. Idaho. NIFC has been involved in a number of critical habitat improvement projects that have seen a significant effect on our local fishing opportunities.
International Fly Fishers Federation
The NIFC is an affiliate club member of the FFI and has previously received the prestigious McKenzie award for our conservation and education efforts. We have also been the beneficiaries of several cash grants for habitat improvement. We encourage individual FFI memberships for our club members.

Trout Unlimited
Many of our members are also members of Trout Unlimited. Some are or have been officers in the Idaho Panhandle Chapter, based in Sandpoint, ID. Trout Unlimited has very similar goals to those of our own club.

Casting for Recovery
The mission of Casting for Recovery® (CFR) is to enhance the quality of life of women with breast cancer by providing retreats at no cost to participants. These are designed to promote and support mental and physical healing. Our program uses counseling, medical education, and instruction in fly fishing to provide an opportunity for women at any age, or stage of treatment, to address survivorship issues. NIFC members often volunteer to attend the annual local retreat as guides.

Project Healing Waters
Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing (PHWFF) began in 2005 serving wounded military service members at Walter Reed Army Medical Center returning from combat in Iraq and Afghanistan. Since then, PHWFF has expanded nationwide, establishing its highly successful program in Department of Defense hospitals, Warrior Transition Units, and Veterans Affairs Medical Centers and clinics. NIFC members help teach fly tying and casting, as well as occasional fly fishing trips.
